ASTROLOGY CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

The following astrology classes are for people who want to learn more about themselves, about their own birth charts, and the art of astrology in a comprehensive, fun and straightforward way. Astrology is an excellent tool to gain insight into one's own character, talents, strengths and personal challenges.

The following Astrology Classes are currently on offer:

INTRODUCTION TO ASTROLOGY

Almost everyone knows what their Sun-sign or Star-sign is, but do you also know your Moon sign or Rising sign? Sun-sign astrology is the popularised form of astrology and a recent 'invention' from the early 20th century. Real astrology is so much more. As well as the Sun, it includes the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and all the other planets, plus there are 12 signs of the zodiac and the sky is divided into 12 sections known as houses. These three elements - planets, signs and houses - are combined to create a map of the sky at a particular moment in time, such as the birth of a child. At this moment, the alignment of the planets forms a blueprint which reveals the potential of that life. And over time, those planetary placements influence the perceptions, opinions and actions of the native. By exploring the birth chart we can begin to understand individual motivation and behaviour.

The purpose of this introductory and experiential course is to teach the basic principles of western astrology, and is suitable for those with little or no astrological knowledge. It explores the characteristics of the planets (the players) and incorporates the zodiac signs (the scripts) and the houses (the scenes). It This course offers you the chance to experience astrology on a personal level, and each experience is different. So students are encouraged to ask questions and participate in group discussions to get the most out of each class. A willingness to learn more about yourself and others enhances your enjoyment and success.

Studying astrology can be quite a left-brained experience. This class is different. In addition to the theory and facts, the class incorporates the use of your own natural, intuitive abilities to deepen your understanding of the material. This combination enables you to have your own personal experience of the planets, which brings a deeper understanding of astrology and its language. Any subsequent classes, lectures, workshops etc. will be easier to follow and understand.

This Course focuses on natal astrology and enabling each student to begin to read and interpret their own birth chart. Therefore, your birth chart will be explored and discussed during the class.
So remember to provide your birth date, time and location when registering.

A journal and pen is all that the student is required to purchase and bring along to each class. The journal is intended to record all information given in class as well as experiences during the week, including thoughts, questions, dreams, drawings, cuttings, found objects etc..

Extra reading will be suggested and recommended as an adjunct to class activities. Some 'homework' may be set but will not be mandatory. It is hoped that through external reading and practice each person will increase their skill and interest in the art.

HISTORY OF ASTROLOGY

The history of Western astrology parallels the history of civilisation. Learn how ancient peoples 25,000 years ago marvelled at the stars and planets, then later, kings and statesmen came to rely on the wisdom and advice of astronomer priests. Their patronage propelled the growth of astrology as a highly respected tool of divination and academic study.

ZODIAC MYTHS & LEGENDS

Where did the zodiac come from? Why are there 12 out of a possible 88? What are the associated myths and legends? Learn how the zodiac came into being, how to recognise each constellation and the stories behind them.

RELATIONSHIP ASTROLOGY

So you know you're a Pisces and they are an Aries and you get along, at least you used to. So what's happened and why do certain things really get up your nose? What can we see when we compare birth charts? Ultimately we need to learn compromise but it would be ideal to be able to choose someone with complemnetary energies. Astrology reveals what flows and what grates and suggests where better compatibility lies.
