Solar Eclipse 3 November 2013

In just a few hours from now we have a solar eclipse at 12° Scorpio. If you have planets between 7° – 17° Scorpio, or in Taurus, Leo, or Aquarius between 9° – 15°, then you will be affected.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon obscures the Sun blocking its light. Eclipses occur in series and always close to the Nodes of the Moon. This rare solar hybrid eclipse falls across central Africa – specifically Gabon, Congo, Zaire, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia. In this zone the eclipse is total but elsewherer, such as North and South America, the Sun appears as a bright ring. We wont se it here as it will be night.

This eclipse belongs to the Saros Series 16 North. Bernadette Brady explains that this is “a gentle family of eclipses which brings a sense of inspiration…(and) the sudden release of material from the unconscious (bringing) a great deal of insight.” So act upon this insight.

The Sabian Symbol for 12 Scorpio is “An Official Embassy Ball”. This symbol pictures the ruling class of the nation meeting people at a high level of cultural interplay. It is an image of the ritualised display of power, prestige and wealth; an integral part of maintaining global peace.

Saturn joins this eclipse, sextile Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn, trine Chiron in Pisces. The time is ripe for facing reality and cleaning out the cupboards, both literally and figuratively. Scorpio rules deeply buried feelings so, at this eclipse, purging and change on a deep level is inevitable. Mars in Virgo allows a discriminating and thorough approach, Pluto engages the psyche and Chiron holds the key to healing. This may not be a fun time but it will be healing after detrimental, unconsciously-driven forces are brought to the surface to be examined and expunged.
